Becka struggled and faught to surface out of unconciousness. The darkness was drowning her, crashing down on her again and again. The numbness was slowly leaving her and the pain was filling her. The pain was forcing her awake. Becka groaned in pain as her eyes dragged open. She recognised the basement floor. She was so cold. Her body shivvered as it was face down on the basement floor in a dried puddle of her own blood. She could still taste blood in her mouth.
Flashes of what happened after Demetri left assaulted her mind. Dante had beat her. He had caused her more pain than she had ever felt before. Becka shuddered at the memory of what he had done to her. Her ribs were surely fracture from the force of his punches. She remembered how he had kept telling her that he was doing this to keep her alive.
"If I don't do this. My brother will torture you, and you probably wont survive that. He doesn't know how to hold back like I do." Dante's voice was silk as he used his demonic powers to slash her skin with shallow cuts. "Don't worry, I won't kill you. You will survive the injuries I inflict on you."
Becka moved carefully making sure no bones were broken as she moved into a sitting position on the cold cement floor. She looked down at her body. She was covered in bruises and cuts. Her shirt was cut up and staind with blood. Becka felt her whole body was in pain. She grimaced as she lifted herself up off the floor and limped over to the bathroom. She looked into the mirror and saw that she was a real mess. Becka's face was covered in blood from a cut above her left eyebrow and her nose had been bleeding along with her busted lip and blood from her mouth. There was a big ugly bruis on her right cheek and her left eye was bruised too.
Her torso didn't look good either. She lifted up her ruined shirt and saw that she was covered in cuts and bruises every where. It was taking everything she had just to stay standing. She stepped back and leaned against the wall. She looked down at her arms and saw jaged cuts along her arms that stayed away from arteries. She hated the way she looked in handcuffs and a steel colar. Becka shivvered as she stepped forward and leaned on the sink as she turned on the water and started cleaning herself up. She washed the blood from her face arms and torso. She couldn't do anything about the cuts but try to wash them out with water. There was no soap in the bathroom so all she had was the water. She did the best she could and then looked back up into the mirror. She noticed her teeth were covered in blood to. She couldn't supress the harsh smile that showed her bloody teeth. She chuckled at her situation. "You're going to die alone in a basement from being tortured by demons." she told herself as she laughed with absolutly no humor. She leaned down and washed her mouth out. She spit the red water out and looked back up. Her teeth were clean now. Becka looked into her own eyes and saw that she was close to giving up on trying to survive this. Her mind wandered about comitting suicide to take the pleasure of torturing her to death from those black eyed bastards. But then she saw a flash of Jesse in her mind. The memory was of the first time he kissed her. His smile flashed through her mind and she felt a small flare of heat in her heart.
Becka didn't want to die. She wanted to live. She wanted to see Jesse again. She looked up at the mirror with resolve and peaked out of the bathroom and limped over to the stairs up to the door. She quickly took out her boby pin from her sock that she had hid last night. She was ignoring the pian that was shooting through her ribs at the movement. She expertly picked her handcuffs and slipped them off. she then started working on her colar. She took it slow and was carefull not to break the pin on the heavy lock. She heard the lock click open and she took that damned collar off.
Becka looked up and listened carefully for any movement up stairs. She heard nothing so she climbed the stairs and went to the door. It was unlocked. She smiled for real this time. She opened the door a crack and looked around the room. It looked like an abandoned house. It was a real dump. Becka looked around and found no sign of the demon brothers. They must be out doing something horrible. Becka made a break for it. She ran out of the door and through the living room to the front door. Shooting stabbing pains were running through her body as she ran out the door. She ran as fast as she could. She saw that she was in the country or something. The house was surounded by forest and fields of corn. She took a split second to decide which way to run. There was a sign not to far down the road that said "Hillview 20 miles". So Becka ran into the corn and kept parallel to the road about a hundred yards into the feild. She ran through the corn as fast as her battered body would alow.
For the first time in a long time she prayed. "Please help me."
